The Labor Education and Research Center was established at the Evergreen State College in order to education, including training programs, and research services to unions operating in Washington State. The center is currently located at the South Seattle College. Along with training programs and research services, the Labor Center organizes conferences, produces the Washington State Workers’ Rights Manual, and manages a library with labor book, film, and training materials for use by the public. The physical Labor Center collection, transferred to the college by the second director Helen Lee, and organized by first director Dan Leahy, is in the Malcolm Stilson Archives at The Evergreen State College and available to students, staff, faculty, and the public. This digital exhibition is part of the digital heritage project funded in part under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, administered by the Office of the Secretary of State, Washington State Library division.
