THIRD WORLD COALITION

LEARNING RESOURCE CENTER

The Learning Resource Center
is available to any TESC
student who wishes individual help with reading,
writing, or study skills.
Such assistance includes:
Diagnostic testing in
reading and writing
skills to determine
specific area of needs;
Individually tailored
assistance;
Improving critical reading skills;
Improving writing skills;
The use of resources and
materials for individual needs.
The Center may be used by
TESC students on a walk-in
basis at any time during
the quarter, or for a formal unit of credit.

THE THIRD WORLD COALITION IS
YOU: Asian or Pacific
Island Americans, Blacks,
Native Americans and Hispanics.
The Third World Coalition
coordinates the working together of Third World
people and Evergreen to ensure equal representation
and participation at all
levels of the institution.
It provides advocacy and
referral assistance, academic/social advising,
leadership and technical
assistance to Third World
student groups (Asian Coalition, Native American
Student Association, MECHA
and Ujamaa), and sponsorship of cultural and educational activities.

UPWARD BOUND

Upward Bound helps students
complete high school and
continue their education.
For low-income students in
their second year of high
schoo 1 (grades 10-11) .
Services - A six (6) week
summer school on the campus,
followed by tutoring and
career counseling during the
academic year.
Internships for Evergreen
Students - Tutor/Counselor
positions in Upward Bound
are excellent opportunities
to get hands-on experience
in education and counseling.
All positions are paid and
administrative staff will
subcontract for a limited
number of interns, working
in Thurston County and
Tacoma, during the academic
year.
