Dolores Huerta, a founder and Vice President of the United }arm Workers, will

be the keynote speaker during a May 5 program sponsored by ~ECH4

the Chicano students

organization at The Evergreen State College.
Her talk is part of a half-day commemoration of the Battle of Puebla in which
Mexican revolutionaries triumphed over Napoleon's French Army at Puebla May 5, 1862.
Ms. Huerta, an organizer for the largely Chicano union headquartered in Delano,
California, will discuss the farm workers' boycott of such products as grapes and
"lettuce.

Her address begins at 3 p ,m, in the main lobby of the Evergreen Library

Building.
Joining Ms. Huerta and the students for the celebration will be Chicano dancers
from Washington State University, who are scheduled to perform at 1 p.m., and
Teatro de la Tierra,

a Chicano theatrical group from Del Ray, California, which will

perform at 2 p.m. under the direction of Agustine Lira.
A Mexican dinner --- complete with enchilados, beans, rice, nachos and other
traditional Mexican food --- will be served in the Evergreen cafeteria (first floor
of the College Activities Building) at 6 p.m. for $2.50 per person.
Evening activities include a

7 p.m. performance by Bailadores de Bronce, a group

of dancers from the University of Washington, and ''Mananeros,''a band from Mexico City
which will play for a public dance beginning at 8:30 p.m.

Both events are scheduled

in the main lobby of the Library.
Mexican arts will be displayed and sold throughout the event,
the dinner are free, and everything is open to the public.
