November 3, 1973
Physics teachers from throughout Washington are expected to attend an all day
meeting of the Washington Section of the American Association of Physics Teachers
at The Evergreen State College November 10.
Coordinated by Evergreen Interim Academic Dean Bryon Youtz, the conference is
expected to attract approximately 60 teachers from high schools, colleges and universities to discuss the current energy crisis and Evergreen's science programs.
The morning session of the Saturday meeting will feature talks by:
Dr. David
Mason, biology professor at Western Washington State College's Fairhaven Cluster
College, who will discuss "Energy In The Human Animal; Dr. Henry Romer, professor
at the University of Washington Institute for Environmental Studies, who will discuss
"Washington's Energy Quandary," and Dr. David Clark, political science professor at
WWSC, who will discuss "Human Values and the Energy Crisis."
Four Evergreen faculty members will present their academic science programs in
,
the afternoon session, which will conclude with a tour of the new Laboratory Building.
The all day meeting will be held in Lecture Hall Five and is open to all physics
teachers in Washington.
