LOOKING FOR MONEY?
The Washington Commission for the Humanities
has recently announced the receiving of
$524,000 in federal grant monies. The
Commission has earmarked at least $420,000
to be allocated as outright funds. All
grant monies will be for support of public
humanities programs. The next deadline is
September 21, 1979. Minigrants of up to
$1,000 are also available. There are no
deadlines for them. There is a WCH office
on campus. Call for further information
regarding guidelines.
THINKING ABOUT GRADUATE SCHOOL?
We have just added to our library a book
ritten on graduate programs in regards to
inority students. Listed are the number
of minority faculty and students enrolled,
degree to which minority students are
recruited, what percentage minority
students are of the total population and
financial aid information. Stop by the
Third World Coalition lounge, Library 3236
to check it out. Ask in Library 3204 for
the key.
YES, IT IS THAT TIME
The end of the quarter is fast approaching
again. Are you ready for it? Have you
met your academic goals, started thinking
about year end evaluations, or what program
to take next year? The Third World Coalition lounge is available for a quiet place
to study, write or reflect, or a place to
sit and talk with someone about your plans.
IF YOU ARE GRADUATING, it is especially
helpful to check out Career Planning and
lacement. There are resources available
o help with resume writing, job placement
and graduate school information. AND
BEFORE YOU GO, IT WOULD BE ESPECIALLY
IMPORTANT THAT WE KNOW A PERMANENT ADDRESS
WHERE YOU CAN BE REACHED IN THE FUTURE.
THIS IS NECESSARY AS WE BUILD UP OUR
NUMBER OF THIRD WORLD ALUMNI, TO KEEP IN
TOUCH WITH WHAT IS GOING ON. PLEASE
FORWARD THAT INFORMATION TO The Third
World Coalition, Library 3233, TESC,
Olympia, WA. 98505. Or call it in at
866-6034. THANK YOU!
HAVE A GOOD SUMMER AND WE WILL SEE YOU
