Visit with Quinault Tribal Council

was very positive and each of the

council members were supportive of this idea (long house) however, there
were questions stibl in their minds.
Establishing a strong and effective ·Indian image at an institution
off the reservation has it's share of RISKS.

Already the Chairman of this

council is dissatisfied with the Indian program at the U.W. ·. I believe that
we assured him that we had a stronger committment here and that we were
aware of

~he

Indian concerns from the reservations.

Phil Martin would .like us to establish a closer relationship with
several · groups on the t'eservatcion, · including the school and the senior
c.itizen program.
The ehairman suggested that we seek support from State legislatures

."".

and he said that he will offer what ever services he can

provide~·

The meeting ended on a very good note.
