A memo to the Evergreen community from The First Peoples Coalition discussing the history of the "Day of Absence" in general and in specific to Evergreen. The first pivotal event took place in 1975, which was a "Talking Shopp" unity dinner held for the African-American community at Evergreen, which subsequently involved the members of the Third World Coalition [renamed First Peoples Coalition]. This memo was to be shared with Evergreen faculty and staff to be shared with their students
