September 26, 1973
The American Lawn Bowls Association Foundation has donated $2000 to
Toe Evergreen State College to help with construction of a campus bowling green.
The gift, accepted earlier this month by Evergreen's Board of Trustees,
covers about 20 per cent of the estimated $10,000 construction cost.
The remaining
$8,000 will be funded from the college landscaping and site improvements budget
appropriated by the 1973 Legislature.
Evergreen Director of Facilities Jerry Schillinger said his staff will consult
with representatives of the Foundation for design help prior to issuance of construction bids next Spring.
Schillinger said present plans call for placing the bowling green adjacent to
the College Recreation Center.
