SUBJECT: Scholarship Development
I would like to invite al l interested people to attend a meeting December 8
at noon in Library 3205 to discuss Third World scholarship development. We
currently have one Third World scholarship fund through the Development
Office in the name of Mary Ellen Lewis. We have raised approximately $500
for that through our T-shirt sales. However, that is a far cry from what
is needed by today•s student. With tuition going up and financial assistance
going down, we need to look at alternate ways of attracting and supporting
new Third World students.
I have talked to Sue Washburn with the Development Office and she indicates
that we might be able to use part of the money in the fund as seed money.
If we can work out this detail we need to decide what activities can be done
to raise more money for scholarships. I can•t do this alone; your ideas and
support are needed.
Please come if you can.
